Houston Bar Foundation Announces Day of Service
In January 2008, the Houston Bar Foundation will commemorate 25 years of serving our community and our profession. The Foundation’s Board of Directors unanimously decided to forego a ceremonial luncheon or dinner, and instead to celebrate that milestone with “A Day of Giving” on Saturday, January 12, 2008. The Houston Bar Foundation will hold legal advice clinics, open to the public, in 10 locations throughout Houston.
The staff at the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program selected the 10 sites based on community need and community support. Stewart Gagnon, a director of the Foundation and a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., is the “Day of Giving” volunteer chair. This is the first time the legal community has undertaken a project of this scope. The Houston Bar Foundation hopes to assist hundreds of people with legal advice and counsel, on a single day, throughout our city. Please join the Houston Bar Foundation as it celebrates 25 years of service with “A Day of Giving.”
